Event Summary
After the slow demand from key markets such as the US and Europe, the global consumer markets are extremely keen to increase their trade ties with the Latin American economies which is rich in natural resources. The region has been receiving a lot attention from prospective trade partners like China and Britain who are extending their support with sharing of technology know how and increased investments for the upcoming rail projects. The only hindrance faced by the region to rise to its complete potential is its poor infrastructure.
Latin American countries have been putting a lot of efforts for a more balanced transport matrix by focusing on investment in the expansion of passengers
and freight railway. This in turn helps reduce the cost of shipping goods through ports. Some of the major factors preventing the development of infrastructure
in the region are lack of financial resources, technical knowledge and skilled labour. With LatAm Rail Opportunities 2015 we attempt to support the momentum of the infrastructure development plans in the region by propagatinga healthy discussion on the various facets that are withholding the progress of the development path.
