Event Summary
Globally there is increased pressure for mines to operate safely and move towards zero harm. Mining industry is consciously shifting their mind-set toward focusing on employee’s health, safety and emergency preparedness.
Mining leaders believe that that “Zero Harm” is not just about making safety a core value, It is about eliminating physical injuries and illnesses, taking control of health and safety, and consistently choosing more safe behaviors. Over the period best practices and theories have been applied to produce significant improvement to ensure safe workplace, however it seems that improvements have reached a plateau and that new insight is required for the next breakthrough.
2nd LatAm Health, Safety & Rescue in Mining 2013 attempts to showcase new concepts and technology in mine site health and safety, focusing on innovative strategy adopted by the mining leaders to create Safety Culture.
